Concrete Power Trowels

Here at Speedcrete we have a wide selection of concrete power trowels for every application and requirement. Concrete power trowels are available in either walk behind trowels or ride on power trowels. Power trowels are available with a number of power options including gasoline / petrol, diesel & electric. We also have cordless electric models for working the edge of your slab. Concrete power trowels can be used to remove minor surface imperfections caused at the screeding stage but remember for a truly flat floor the slab must be laid with the correct concrete screeding tools. Ride on Concrete Power Trowels will give a highly polished surface but require somewhat more experience to operate and so it is recommended to use a pedestrian model. A common mistake made when using the power trowel is to 'get on' the surface too early. For Tips and Techniques on using a concrete power trowel please visit our concreting tips section.

Power Trowel Pans

Power Trowel pans are a consumable item used as part of the finishing process. They are replaceable discs that attach to the concrete trowel blade and facilitate the ability to 'get on' the concrete slab early. The replacement pans for the concrete power trowel will improve surface tolerances when used correctly over traditional methods. The pan will 'break' the surface of slab allowing bleed water from the slab to escape. Do not be tempted to finish the concrete slab with the power trowel blades too early, when a slab is experiencing a large volume of bleed water. By sealing the surface too early with the power trowel blades the bleed water can be trapped which can cause surface delamination. Continue to use the concrete power trowel and pan and remove the bleed water.

Power Trowel Blades

Power trowel blades come in a number of types. We can supply a range of concrete trowel finish blades or combination blades to suit any type of concrete power trowel. The advantage of finish blades on a power trowel is that they can be used in conjunction with a trowel pan and when the slab is ready to be finished the power trowel pan can be removed and the finishing process can commence. The finish blades are of significant benefit as when one edge of the trowel blade feathers simply unbolt the trowel blade and turn it around to reveal a fresh working edge. By getting double the usage of a finish blade compared to a combination can offer significant cost savings on large concrete pours. The advantage of the combination blade, in that you can get on the slab earlier than with finish blades is largely negated by the modern power trowel panning stage which is critical when attempting to lay high tolerance concrete floors.
