The construction of a new Lidl store in High Wycombe could see bricklaying tools in demand in the area later this month.

From October 14th, the car park at Desborough Avenue is to close to the public, paving the way for Lidl's builders to put their bricklaying tools to work.

The development follows the completion of a land-sale agreement between the supermarket's owners and Wycombe District Council.

Cabinet member for property services and procurement Councillor Roger Colomb says: "Lidl is a leader in its market and will be a valuable addition to the range of retailers now located in High Wycombe."

The new store, on West Richardson Street at the end of Desborough Avenue, is to provide short-stay parking both for its customers and for the public.

Free parking is also provided by the council in a number of locations in High Wycombe, including Desborough Recreation Ground and Cressex Island.
