A growing number of DIY fans are choosing to invest in bricklaying tools, an analyst has noted.

According to Jeannie Woods of Ezine Articles, bricklaying is becoming more and more popular with people who like to do up their own homes.

"Many want to build with bricks or learn how building with bricks is done," she observed.

Ms Woods attributed this partly to the fact that brick structures can often have a certain charm and "old-world" feel.

However, she noted that people need a "good amount of skill" and knowledge if they wish to use bricklaying tools correctly.

Ms Woods recommended that novice bricklayers start with a simple building project and gradually progress towards more complex structures.

She added that if a person lacks the necessary skills to create a brick wall, the structure will be faulty and vulnerable to the elements.

This comes after DiyAdvice.com recommended that builders pay a slight premium for bricklaying tools in order to get the best quality products.
