The assertion was made by DIY Network, which highlighted a magnesium float, a concrete trowel and a concrete edger as some of the most vital tools to have available.
A magnesium float can be used to level the surface of the wet concrete, it advised, and is often the first tool you should use after the concrete has been poured.
Builders can then use a concrete trowel, such as those manufactured by W. Rose, to achieve a smooth texture on the surface.
DIY network advised that this would also ensure any water is brought up the top, although it said construction workers should take care not to use too much water.
W. Rose could be a good brand to look towards if you are interested in purchasing the best equipment, as it has been specialising in bricklaying and concrete finishing tools for more than 200 years.
