According to Peter Cartwright, author of Bricklaying, time spent looking for tools is time that should be used getting on with the job.
He has therefore recommended that builders ensure they have a set place for their bricklaying tools, so they can be found easily whenever they are needed.
Mr Cartwright also suggested that construction workers make sure they keep their bricklaying tools as clean as possible.
"No bricklayer will regret the small amount of time taken in cleaning tools at the end of a day's work," he commented.
Mr Cartwright added that a builder should try to keep their working area clean, including scaffolding and mortar boards.
This comes after BricklayingBasics urged builders to make sure they invest in bricklaying tools that will last for a long time, as it will be cheaper in the long run than constantly replacing their equipment.
