A development in the north of England could create 1,000 jobs for users of brick tools, it has been reported.

The Yorkshire Post stated that Halton Homes was interested in establishing a holiday village near Settle, but it had not yet submitted a planning application.

According to the newspaper, if the project went ahead it would require two golf courses, a swimming pool, tennis courts, accommodation and eateries to be built over a 100-acre space.

Linda Spencer of the firm told the publication: "We are anticipating that we will be spending £80m within the site on the construction phase and we hope that a minimum of 25 per cent of that will be awarded to local contractors."

Additionally, 500 full-time jobs are expected to be created after the project has been built.

The property developer is currently planning to deliver more than 90 homes, including six apartments and four houses in Bingley.
