Consisting of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association, the Scottish Building Federation and the National Federation of Builders, the partnership will coordinate their efforts on the Strategic Forum for Construction.
Operating as a round-table for issues in the sector, the forum also interacts with the government regarding key concerns.
Director-general of the FMB Richard Diment said it has been working closely with a number of bodies in recent months.
"I am pleased to sign the memorandum of understanding to strengthen this relationship," he stated, adding: "I am looking forward to the great things the Construction Alliance will help us achieve."
Last month, the institution called on local authorities to make sure they deliver sufficient housing volumes in order to tackle the UK's "chronic" property shortfall.
